Default Buying flow40, confirmation on size and procedure needed

So I got $200 in gift certs to Jegs this christmas and am going to get flowmaster 40s for my 2001 MC. I measured it was 2.25" pipes, offset in and centered out (looked like offset in, without lifting the car up). Does this seem correct.

Also, how do the hangers work, im sure they're not standard so will I have to fab some up and weld them on? Also it looks like I have a 8" long pipe converting the 2.25" output from the muffler to the 2.5" for my tips (from PO). Is this a standard part or a jerry rig from the PO putting on tips?

TIA

So after jacking it up and remeasuring/checking the inlet size to the mufflers is 2in not 2.25in. Turns out they don't sell 2" flowmaster 40s. Might have to go with the Delta models.

hmmm... are you sure? I KNOW its possible to get 40s put on there. Let me see if I can do some digging and get back to you. When I had my monte (it was an LS) I had dual 40's put on. I think my tubing was 2"... ?

Thanks! Well they may exist but JEGS doesn't sell them. As I have $200 to JEGS thats really the only place I can afford to buy...

A muffler shop could weld in a 2-2.25 inch converter pipe to make it work, just ask around, i'm pretty sure it would not be that big of a deal for a shop to do this.
