Watch out when going to a 2.5" exhaust on a 3.9l V6 - that is too large of a pipe for that engine. You will most likely lose some low end torque...

Definately Louder and smooth shift and you can tell a difference
Just out of curiousity, what does the res delete have to do with smooth shifting?

Look under your car in the mddle and look up and you will see a big round pipe going to the smaller pipe that goes to the muffler and you that bigger pipe by the engine is the resonator and imagine it gone and just the rest of the piping going to the engine and thats what it would look like,

When I do the y pipe mod I will take pics or when its on a lift I will take pics, My friend took just one pic for me of the car on the lift, I should have taken pics of the before and after.

I have a 2006 SS with no additions to the exhaust system. I love how the car has a little rumble to it but I'd like just a little bit more (without being too excessive). Would it be worth while (and not too drastic) to remove the resonators only? Would that cause any problems?

you will not have any problems removing by the resonator. all it's mostly designed for is to eliminate exhaust noise frequencies heard inside the cabin. like mavrick said, it will give you a slightly different sound when removing it.

I have an 06 SS and removing the resonator actually eliminated interior noise and increased mid range tones from the rear. My car has deep rumble and plesant hum while cruzing. It allows others to know its a V8 without drawing attention to police. While the sound clip on my signature sounds loud and it pops when it hits the low rev limitor while in park (3500rpms). It actually sounds more like a stock camaro SS than a loud after market system.

is that video before or after the muffler swap? and on the losing torque i would agree if it was a true dual 2.5 but since its a y i doubt that it will effect anything
