Anyone got exhaust on a 3.8 S/C
I want a video to hear what an exhaust sounds like on the s/c 3800's i want to put one on my dale jr but i dont want it to sound like a lawnmower or weedwacker i want a deep sound to it (kind of like a v8 sound)
Well ill tell ya the same thing someone told me when i started on the forum, its gonna be real hard to get the sound of a v8 when u have a v6. however you can still get a good sound. Here is a URL to a clip of my dale Jr edition with a resonator delete and a 2.5 inch catback exhaust with duAl flowmasters. You may have to copy and paste the URL sry. Also try bother the URL [url]Http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=RE3YQsQ6438 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE3YQsQ6438&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I have a set of magnaflow knock offs, u bend delete and resonator delete. These are great sounding not raspy. the video is really quiet so turn up the volume. I will post another video soon of it with a little bit of gas. my last monte I had flowmaster 40 series and I loved them! raspy but great sounding. I wanted to see how these sounded and they were free so I couldn't pass it up. I might switch back to the flows though.
thanks everyone for the video's i might just stick stock will changing it really get me that much more horsepower? I came from an iroc big v8 all done up sounded good but i like the sound of the supercharger whistle ALOT maybe ill get louder instead?
You really wont gain any horsepower from this kind of exhaust work, unless you change your down pipe and do a u bend delete, then you might see some small gains.
I had a RWD 96 Camaro with a 3800 with an aftermarket exhaust. The 3800 and the 4.3L are two of the only V6s that will get close to a V8 sound. My 3800 sounded outstanding. I never put an aftermarket exhaust on my Dale Jr but I imagine it would have sounded pretty mean. I've seen videos on Youtube of Pontiac GTPs with aftermarket exhausts that sounded really really good and even saw one of a late 4th gen Camaro with a 3800 and true duals that sounded pretty wicked. The true duals is hard to do and make it sound good but that guy did it. It was louder than I would have liked but it still sounded good.
