Talking Anyone, any idea on this exhaust?

So I am fully aware most cat-back exhausts are worthless for power gains if your engine already produces less than 400HP, and in fact some of them have been known to reduce low end torque, this is what concerns me. I'm looking to get one that sounds good, and gives a slight boost to HP and low-end torque, or at the very least, not take away from the low-end power. I've read and heard that straight pipe designs are something that powerful V8's, or T/C V6's should use, that a N/A or S/C V6, like what we have, would hurt performance on the low end more than what is worth it for the minimal top-end gain. Here at http://www.pfyc.com/pc/MC5003/MCEXH/...nte+Carlo.html Is what I am looking at, not only are the 3.5 inch stainless tips BEAUTIFUL, but a member on here posted a sound clip of it on here 2005 SS.

Here are my concerns. Is this a straight pipe design? Is it discouraged for a N/A setup since it may hurt my low-end power? Secondly, the member who posted the exhaust system on here had a 2005 SS, an L67 engine series 3 3800, where I have a 2003 SS, L36 engine Series 2 3800. Can I expect to get the same in terms of sound results? Or will the L67 sound always be a bit out of my reach? Thank you all for your ideas and suggestions.

I wouldn't worry about losing power/torque with that. The only time I'd even think about it is if you did actual straight pipe (ie no cat/resonators/or mufflers)- or if you did a cutout.

As far as the sound, as long as you're comparing the sound to relatively stock L67s; the exhaust note will be the same (just don't try and compare those with headers or a cam, etc- because that will effect the exhaust note).

So I shouldn't feel a difference at all? That's great news! And $500 isn't too bad for 304 stainless system.

No, that is not a straight pipe design...Straight pipe means you have no mufflers or resonator..just a pipe going straight out the back.

What your looking at is a cat back exhaust system with mufflers...I think you will be very pleased with it! And the price is not to bad for a full cat-back system.

Now, just a little FYI, (correct me if i'm wrong). No Monte Carlo's had the 3800 series III V6 or S/C Series III V6. To the best of my knowledge, ALL 00-05 Monte Carlo's with the 3.8L were the 3800 Series II V6 or the S/C version of the Series II. Unless the memeber you are refering to did an engine swap. But I just want to keep us all informed on our cars as best as possible!

On the butt dyno- I wouldn't say so; regardless where it makes a gain or loss, it should be small enough that you shouldn't notice any major difference.

When you see L67 it's instantly not a series III, that would be the L32

Don't mean to get off topic...but L32 is Series 3 S/C and L26 is Series 3 N/A? What cars have those then?
