There are a lot of threads on building there own intakes. I think this insulation would work pretty good for wrapping an intake pipe or even building a box. seal it up with some aluminum tape and youd be good to go. 16 in. x 25 ft. Yep looks like the stuff that I used and aluminum tape... I used fiberglass and that wrap insulation to make sure it wasnt drawing heat!

Awesome:) Ive only ever used PVC piping to make them for my old cars. never worked with metal, for an intake anyways. My main thing is getting rid of that ridged piece in the middle. i want a nice smooth flow if that make sense. wrapping it in insulation does seem like a good idea. :) I'm getting all kinds of good tips:)

Although I can tip my hat off to a guy who is a "DIY'er", sometimes these projects end up costing almost as much as a profesionally designed and insulated intake system that has been tested and performs. We may have an application for your vehicle, I know a lot of members on this forum run our CAI and are very happy. Your current set-up has many issues that I am seeing that others already mentioned. I would reccomend checking out our website, www.ColdAirInductions.com

Great looking engine bay by the way! :)
