i just got monte about a moth ago and i fell in love.. its a 97 3.1 liter, v6. its white with two blackracing stripesand tinted windows.

anyways i had gone to american muffler to go install a flowmaster muffler. The gentleman put the car on the lift and told me he wasnt sure how much growl or performace i would get out of it... do the 95-99 monte carlo models all have the u-bend..if so if i delete the ubend will i get a better sound out of it..has anyone attempted putting a flowmaster on a 3.1 Ls or am i just being stupid..

i'm not sure about the u-bend, but if it has a resonator on there, get rid of it too. that will make it a little throatier as well

post some pics and sound clips when you get the exhaust done

 

wow.. i did it put the flowmaster 40 series on my 97 monte..the sound is unbelievable best decision i have ever made ill put up some sweet video or sound clips later

 

did you have the resonator taken off too??? where did they put the muffler?? @ the back or in the middle somewhere?? i always find it a little cleaner looking if they put the muffler in the middle of the car somewhere and then just put pipes out the back with stainless tips.

did you do dual or no??
