Someone just recently mentioned the the series 44's have a deep rumble sound without the v-6 crackle that happens with the series 40's.

I havn't heard that, but I do know that the 44's are even louder then the 40's. Mine are Delta Flow and suppose to be the quieter of the 40's and I can hear them pretty good. But I would try it.
