Alrighty 'Space, I'll humor you

1: 2003 Monte Carlo SS, 3800 Series II Engine
2: 94,000 miles, it had a shade over 80,000 when I bought it (see when below)
3: 2 owners before me, with all service records to that point in March 2007
4: Glasspack with no other mufflers, K&NFilter, computer retuned.
5&6: The air conditioning went bad on it within a month of my buying it. My dad and I repaired it in a Saturday afternoon with near $300 in a compressor and dryer from Advanced Auto. I think the fan motor itself is going bad... after about an hour of running it near stops blowing air.... It's also had a slow leak in one tire and just the other day a flat from a nail. Together they costed around $30. I also did a major tune up back in July before starting to drive to college. Spark plugs, spark plug wires, and cabin air filter for about $75 I think, but I honestly don't remember. It also took about 2 and a half hours to od it all.

The worst fuel mileage it has ever gotten was 20 mpg city. It averaged 22 with as high as 24 going to high school, and has made it has as 32 mpgs babying it across a 55 mph 2 lane raod to Murfreesboro, NC. It usually gets aruond 27-29 highway going to Campbell on interstates and the little bit of city driving that I ahve to do to get there.

Great bunch of Montes!

Everyone here knows my car already, but here goes anyway.

1. 2004 Dale Earnhardt Jr edition Supercharged SS with the 3.8l series II engine

2. 33,000 kilometers can`t think of the conversion to miles right now.

3. Car was a dealership demo model that never sold until I bought it in August 2007.

4. Only mods are a K&N drop in filter.

5. Intermediate Steering Shaft problem, and had to have the guage cluster replaced. I also seem to have to keep re-filling the gas tank.

6. Luckily the cost of the above repairs was the cost of the extended warranty.

'81 SC Monte - previous owner said his dad bought it new.
When I bought the car he stated he replaced the exhaust & muffler, shocks, tires, tuned up, air filter, oil change, brakes, and he produced receipts showing the work.
So far I've replaced the front brake pads, one rear wheel cylinder, needed oil changes, new valve cover gaskets, muffler and tail pipe, engine & trans mounts, tires, new stereo, seats (the originals dry rotted), headliner, driver side window motor, power door lock switches, tuned up, rebuilt the carb, and added a rear sway bar to the car and 3rd brake light to the car.
I think the current miles is about 115,000.

'86 LS Monte - guy I got it from said his dad bought the car new. He paid $850 to have the engine changed cause he scrapped the original. He said he did work to the car, but I couldn't see it?
So far I've tuned it, new tires, front brake pads, rebuilt the Q-jet carb, replaced the door weatherstrip and the whisker strips at the belt line, replaced power door lock switches, replaced missing wheel centers, new stereo, got the cruise control to work cause it was unplugged by the mechanic who put the 305 HO engine in, new hoses, new water pump, new radiator, replaced steering box with SS Monte unit, new carpet, added SS rear sway bar, 120 mph speedometerand factory tach to the dash.
Right now the car has 209,000 something miles on it.

'03 PAce car - we're the second owners. Got the car with 65,000 something miles on it. Right now it has 70,000 something miles.
I did clay bar and wax the car which improved the looks 100% in my book. Detailed the engine compartment.
Did a monumental task of finding the production number of the car. (#476 of 1,401)
I'd list some parts it's getting.............. but someone is too close and I don't want to spoil Christmas.
[sm=goodidea.gif][sm=icon_cheers.gif]

'06 LTZ. - I'm suppose to be the 1st private owner of the car.
So far I'm kept it clean. Cleaned it some. Then cleaned it some more.
Added GM/Chevy accessory door sill guards, stainless exhaust tips.
Also added aftermarket rally stripe kit.
Chevy replaced the tire monitor system, FINALLY fixed the dead battery problem.

Right now the car has 14,497 miles in it.

1. Year/model/engine of your Monte
2000 SS 3.8L N/A

2. Total Miles ?
154,325

3. How many owners/when did you purchase ?
Parents bought new / gifted to me in May 2007 (we custom ordered the car in 2000 so we didn't get a sun-roof knowing I would get it some day)

4. What Modifications ?
Custom Paint job in 2000 (for the red and silver bottom, that became a norm for these cars quickly)
K&N FIPK
Vinyl lettering on windshield in the monte carlo script font.

5. What problems have you had ?
-Blown radio lights (can no longer see passenger heat, 3 buttons on radio)
-Warped rotors (multiple times)
-Dead battery
-Bushings on the front end went bad, caused a major crack in the front cradle. Had to get a custom weld job so I didn't have to replace the whole cradle. Almost had a full separation if I hit one more bad bump.
-Bad wheel hub assembly
-Rear defrost clips separated from window recently (still need to get that looked at)
-My transmission is shot to hell (saving for that repair hopefully to get done in spring)

6. Estimated cost for above repairs ?
IDK, I spend what is needed whenever something goes wrong. This car is my baby.
I just dumped 500$ into it for a tune-up and the wheel-hub replacement.

We'll try this in multiple posts, cuz it won't let me do this in one post!

'04 Monte Carlo Intimidator SS, all options. Have the COA. #3599 of 4000

94,800 miles now. Daily driver of 100+ miles/day

2nd owner. 1st owner bought new July '05, and traded in at a F__d dealer in PA that Thanksgiving with 4,975 miles. I bought it off eBay Feb. 11, 2006 for just over half off sticker. Mint condition. Had it trailered to MI, and still saved over $5,000!

Problems:
(2) broken flex plates, 1st replaced under warranty, 2nd not. The 2500 rpm stall converter went in then. $1,000 total.
ISS shaft replaced under warranty
Sun roof switch replaced under warranty
Instrument cluster replaced under warranty
Plug wires replaced this summer, because of a mis-fire condition. MSD coil-packs replaced, also, with AC Delcos. Basic maintanence.
Brakes this fall at 85,000 miles. FIRST brake job. (LUV my Powerslot and Hawk HPS combo!)
Tires has been my largest expense, other than the 2nd broken flex plate.

Mods on the next post?
