I've been reading tons of posts about how to fix the Remote Keyless Entry range, example here:

Which says that the ground is under the A-Pillar trim. Well, I removed that trim today, and saw no wires, grounds, "christmas trees" or anything of the sort. Was the system different for the 2001 Monte's? If so, where should I start looking?

That thread is about an '06 SS, and if you read further into the thread the '06-'07's don't have the fuse panel on the driver side of the dash like the '00-'05's do.

Open your driver side door, look at the side of the dash and pull off the fuse cover panel.
I'm sure you'll find a ground in there somewhere...and hopefully a hell of a lot easier than pulling the trim off of the A-pillar.

 

I looked under both fuse covers and didn't find any sort of a ground under either of them...does anybody else have any ideas how to fix the range problems on a 2001 SS?
