Must suck to have a limiter

I think it's time for a race.

Yep, you've heard me B**ch about how mine grabs 3rd at 80 before....you'd have me...

Now a roll at 75-78...we'd have to see.....LOL

IDK when your will grab first, but the Bonnie only grabs first till 30MPH...I can get it to 38MPH...so a roll from 35MPH, i'm guaranteed a win...LOL

I would love to race a 3.8L Monte off the line, because the Bonnieville gets creamed everytime, Monte's are little lighter though, so itd be intresting!

Mike, i'm telling you, load up the Monte and your girlfriend, take a nice vacation to CA, go do some sight seeing, then meet up with me...we can BS for a while, put the women to sleep haha, then go for a race! That would be a good race for sure modded 3.8L against slightly modded 3.5L...hmmmmmmmm

Remember, your mom's bonne is on all the stock shift points. I'm all tuned out so I don't have any lag points, my shift points are higher and I can skipshift downshift :P

So even if i'm sitting at 3rd, I can still go down to 1st if I really wanted to

Are you talking you manually go down to from 3rd to 1st, or just floor it and it will do it? Because Both my car and the Bonnie wll "skip shift" in stock settings...My car goes into 4th gear at 38 MPH, and if you floor it at 38 MPH, while its in 4th gear doing 1,000 RPM, it will down shift from 4th to 1st...And it does down shifts from 4th to second for highway passes no problem...same with the Bonnie...

I'm confused what you mean by making it do a skip shift Because like I said, if its what i'm thinking, they will skip shift stock...

Now just becasue curious minds wonder , what kind of tweaking were you able to do with your custom tune? Like what shift points do you have now? I'm pretty sure I could change my 4th to 2nd down shift from 78MPH max to 85MPH max could't I? The Bonnie is that way stock...and that extra few MPH window to get a 2nd gear down shift can really come in handy ...I'm perfectly happy with the 1st gear down shift points though in my car, and I don't think I could make it hold first any longer than it already does (stock it redlines, and shifts at 6,300 RPM) Did you buy all the stuff to do your tune, or just find someone than could do it for you? Who know what the future may hold

Someone who tunes 3800 engines did mine.

We did increased in transmission line pressure, lowered the time it takes to shift (SLAMS into gear quickly like a short-shifter, no more gently holding the shift) What I mean by skip-shifts is common in a tune for these cars. 4->2 and 3->1 when they aren't supposed to do that. Nothing I do is manual. We also bumped up all my shift points depending on my foot position, and standard we bumped them up 4-500 rpms.

Also took away the cars ability to retard my timing, increased fuel, maf settings, etc.

Basically everything in the car was taken away from stock and made perfect for me. The way I wanna drive it. The car PULLLLLLLLLSSSS at high speeds unlike before. Maybe one day I'll be able to take a video of that, but I get nervous doing video at that high of a speed...

Hmmmm it sure would be nice if they started becoming more 3500 friendly in the aftermarket world...I'd love to tune my car specifically to me. I mean i'm pretty happy with most of its shift points, but I wish I could get the 4th to 2nd shift a bit after 80mph...I also wish 2nd would hold to 6,300 RPM like 1st does, instead it shifts at like 5,800-5,900 RPM in 2nd...

I had an 09 Impala rental a few months ago while my car was at the dealer, same engine and tranny, yet you could get a 4th to 2nd down shift up to about 87MPH, and it held 2nd till 6,300 RPM just like 1st gear does. Why did the 09 Impala get those privlages and not my Monte???

Maybe on of these days down the road i'll have to look more into a good HP Tune, IDK though.
