GP `Dave,
I agree with member Tommy, 2 many doors, but
I think GM Chevrolet put togethera decent package on
the malibu. Time will tell `if it can catch the Honda's, and
Toyota's in sales. I sure hope so : ).
Make Quality Job #1
My grandfather said it Doesn't look like any Malibu's of the past.

WHAT'S NEW
Redesigned for 2008.

BEHIND THE WHEEL
It stops and handles as well as most of its opposition, although the powertrains aren’t as smooth as the best of the Japanese competition.

CAPSULE REVIEW
All-new for 2008, the Malibu at last looks like it will be competitive with the likes of the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. Closely related to the Saturn Aura, it has sleek sheetmetal and a vastly improved interior compared with the outgoing model.

Okay Cowboy, one more time if the other MCFer's don't mind.

Americans have been DESIGNING most of the Japanese cars for the last 20+ years.

Because of the success of AMERICAN designers for Japanese automakers, the BIG 3 Automakers are taking note.

AMERICAN designers have DEFECTED from NISSAN, TOYOTA, & others to go to work for the BIG 3.

I says kudos to those American Designers who made Japanese cars popular and are now doing it for American companies.

Once again, MOST of the CURRENT Japanese cars were NOT DESIGNED by Japanese people.

Thank you for letting me post this for the 20th time.

Nissan Design America[/align]Nissan Design America, (NDA) is a world-renowned design studio located in San Diego California, and is home to 60 of the fewer than 500 automotive designers in all of North America. In close coordination with engineers at the Nissan Technology Center North America (NTCNA) located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, designers at NDA create vehicles specifically for the North America market. Nissan designers are responsible for the creation of the Altima, Maxima, Xterra, and Frontier, as well as the 350Z. NDA has been recognized as one of the world's foremost creative design facilities and has won several prestigious awards from around the globe. To keep their design skill sharp, NDA staff members often work on non-automotive products, which have ranged from a 150-foot yacht to preschool furniture to golf clubs.

(These teams consist mostly of Americans with Japanese and American Supervisors. This comment inserted by GPD)

(Once again, mostly American designers with Japanese, supervisors, consultants and co-designers.)

Calty Design Research Incorporated (also simply known as Calty) is a Toyota design studio established in 1973. They have two facilities: one in Newport Beach, California and another in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Calty's primary focus is exterior styling.[1]
