Question Why did You ?

Hi `Member's,
With all the choices everyone has in selecting a vehicle,
Why did you choose the Monte Carlo ?
(old thread question, resurfaced: )

Whose going to be first to post,
Why did you purchased the AweSome

me it was the styling and the room inside the monte as well. i can have four people in the monte and have room for all four people. not just that it was the styling of it than any thing else

looks, room, color, features, and price for sure. i test drove a bunch of cars that i couldnt afford and once i saw my monte i got it on the spot.
when i took the test drive i had my friend in the passenger seat and i was like wow theres a lot of space inbeteen us. plus i thought he steering was great and the gas pedal was familiar{former gm owner}

what i really wanted was an american car that was newer. i had never owned a car that was less than 10 years old b4. plus i was sick of car shopping and wanted to do some car buying. i spent way too much time looing on autotrader and driving hundreds of miles at a time looking.

i am happy with my purchace and everytime i get into my monte it feels right. its nice to get compliments from random people in parking lots too.

Going back to 1999, when I first saw pictures of the totally new 2000 Monte SS in Car and Driver, I KNEW that car was one for me. Unfortunately I was still paying off my 96 Ford T-Bird and the price was out of my range.

Not to long, I started seeing them appear (especially the black 2000 SS) one by one on the streets and at intersections I would just stare and drool over it. Like a little kid in a toy store, I wanted it right now.

I had to wait 3 long years so I could pay off the T-bird and to save enough to purchase a used 2001 SS with 38K miles on it. The wait was well worth it!!! This car had everything I wanted. It had the power, tight suspension, the dependable 3800 engine and of course (the thing that won me over back in 1999), the looks and the style.

Happy owner, Geddy

Looks and price for sure.
Dodge wouldn't finance me a Magnum, so here i am driving this great vehicle.
It was a toss up of the two and well the end result is clear.

Because it had the supercharged 3800 engine.

After getting burned by GM with the problematic 3400 in my grand am, I was anxious to trade up to the more reliable 3800 engine.

The supercharger and the stripes on the side just added to the appeal of the one I bought. Wasn't even a racing fan when I bought it. Just thought the car looked cool.

I know how you feel Jose.

GM wouldn't sell me an 2005 Pontiac GTO because I live in Canada. Kept the grand scam for two more years before buying the Monte.

well my monte was in my dads price range in 2004 (5,000). My dad saw it on the way home and said that he would but it for me if i graduated in 2006. Well i got to test drive it and then i fell inlove. The power of the 3.8 and the stylish leather interior. The first thing i said to my mom was " My car has a bigger motor then your 95 camaro"

The aggressive wide body stance combined with the potential of aftermarket beauty.... I honestly got hooked into my 2000 because of the red interior, once I bought it and started fiddling with it, I knew I am going to keep it and continue to work on it because of the simplicity of it.
