I know I answered this already, in a similar thread, but I bought Mr. Burns because it basically met all of my criteria when I was searching for a new car and it looks great. Short and sweet!
I just wish I could get better gas mileage and cup holders that FIT a cup...

When it was time to buy a new car, I didn't want another Gran Prix and I will ONLY drive coupes, so I checked out the Monte and special ordered my 03 in Oct 02. And since I have seen the future of cars - coupes were getting more and more scarce, I wanted another Monte for my DD because I can drive it with no worries.

Before buying this car, i drove a 00 Corolla XD!
I got married and needed another vehicle.
Looked at the Magnums/Chargers/Montes/and Impala SS's.
I couldn't afford the Magnums and Chargers, and well..since i was like member Cowboy i wanted to stand out and be a little different, i didn't want another toyota or honda, so i went with the Chevy, and well at the time the the dealer wanted 14 xxx for a supercharged Impala, and 11,xxx for the dale .. i chose the dale .. because of color and sporty look- and price too lol.
I am 100% satisfied with my decision. ^.^

Yeah, the Monte is a good deal, it's resale isn't that great (reason I got one), but if you want to drive it for along time, It's a great buy!

Here's my long story.

I've always loved the look of a Monte (except for the late 70's early 80's) but couldn't afford what I wanted during my late teens and early twentys.

I had an '86 Cavalier Z-24 that was hit and totaled in front of my house by a drunk driver in 1990. I always loved 83-88 Monte SS's so I went looking and bought my first Monte Carlo with the insurance money. It was a blue 1984 SS and keep it around 3 years.

My next Monte was a new 1996 Black LS which I kept until 2003. It was a nice car that I put over 135,000 miles on.

I bought a new blue 2000 Monte Carlo SS for my wife and then took it over 3 years later when I bought her a new car. I still have this car, which my youngest teenage son is now driving with over 170,000 miles on it.

I bought a used red 1995 Monte Carlo Z-34 that I fixed up for my oldest teenager to drive in 2006. I kept the car for over a year until I traded it in for the car I have now.

In November 2007 I bought my 2007 black Monte Carlo SS and I am in love with it. It is the best car I have ever owned in every way. I knew 2007 was the last year of the Monte and wanted to get one and got an amazing deal on it when I purchased it. It is a true muscle car. If you push down on the gas it will put you back into your seat and just sounds awesome.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
