RE: WHOA.... WTF!!!
Thanks Everyone... I'm sitting waiting for the tow truck this morning.
Rick... Best way to describe it is... It felt like I was riding on a knife edge, because the slightest bump and the frontend would flop left or right uncontrolably and that was the nerve racking part of limping it home. Because it would flop or pop me towards traffic or towards the ditch as I tried to stay on the side of the road so I did not impede traffic.

oK... i HATE THIS... My boys are telling me, NOTHING broke, but the control arm was bent and they say the only way that happen was that I...had to hit a pothole or something else prior to it losing control!!! I cannot guarantee I didn't... but I didn't see any pothole! In either case, the repair is less $500 so I have to pay... $430

RE: WHOA.... WTF!!!
You'd have probably had to pay $500.00 deductible if you wrecked and needed to have some body work. Avoiding the body work was a good thing. I think you'd have felt hitting a Pot Hole deep enough to do a number on a control arm.
But, I'm always telling my wife and daughters NOT to drive through small puddles in the Winter months. They're filled up with water because there's a hole deep enough to hold water.
The question is: How deep?

Sorry to hear about your mis fortune, Craig, but I'm thankful that God was on your side with a guardian angel looking out for you as you swerved thru the traffic. I've had a couple of bad wrecks, totalled 2 '01 Impalas. Glad I've got a guardian angel, also. Should've been dead from the last one, but walked out of the hospital the next day with a bruised rib. Ist one wrecked at 80 on I-94 on a friday night. I got left turned into.
Hope there is no serious damage to anything else. Sucks having to fork out the bucks. I STILL don't have my car fixed. Having problems getting the new torque convertor. It's getting powder coated in GR.Renting a car tomarrow for a while, so LadyT can put the Solstice back in the garage. Winter SUCKS!

WOW! Bet you needed a pair this size to hold all of what you did in yours?
Glad to hear you're okay but why isn't the warranty covering the new control arm?
PS. My first thought when I read your description was the sway bar had come loose and this was making the front end raise up.
