Hey guys. I was just wondering if you'd like to share the story of when you bough your Monte Carlo. Although I'm still in search of mine I'm looking for some inspirational story lol. I recently came across an 84 Monte Carlo with 25 thousand miles on it and it is in pretty good shape. No rust, No fram rot. I didnt buy it because it is not what I'm looking for unfortunately. I'm looking for a lter 80's SS with the V8 since I dont really like the 125hp engine in the 84 v6 and I like the look of the SS much better. So I'm going to wait and continue to save. I might even consider a 2000 - 2002 SS for the purpose of practicality although an 88 would be great. I have about 2,000 saved up. Share your stories of when you bought/discovered your monte! Any generation

 

Aquantance i had crashed it... picked it up CHEAP!!!! now doing a frame off to repair his stupidity, car will cost me more than what buying a new would and it's worth every cent!

 

i picked mine up from my dad for a real cheap price, and it was in pretty good condition

 

I got mine in the back corner of a body shop for a grand

 

I was in florida for a high school baseball trip and my mom called me and said she bought me a car. Had to wait a week to figure out what it was, she wouldn't tell me over the phone.

 

I got mine a year ago, almost to the day. Bought it from a from an elderly lady so it was definitely well taken care of and not abused.

 

I found mine in newspaper ad on new years day , chevy dealer . I looked 2005 Monte SS supercharged over on sunday called dealer on monday was told they didn't have a Monte like that in stock. was told he would call me back in 20 min, One hour later he called and say's that is a nice car . I told him I want it He said no problem he would pull the keys for me , so I picked Monte a week later when I got the money .

 

my grandfather bought my z34 for my grandmother and he always promised me he would buy me a car as soon as i graduated high school. but he passed away 2 years before i graduated and my grandmother passed away 6 months before i graduated so she left it to me in her will. so in a way, grandpa DID buy me a car

 

Great stories. Keep them coming. Nothing special about any of my purchases. Oh yea one, I was a Junior in high school and my Mother and stepfather talked me into buying a Plymouth Duster baby blue, Yuk, The car lot also had a red/black 70 Monte with aluminum slots all aorund and riding high like they did back in the day. I wanted it. Kept the Duster a week and took it back and traded it in on the Monte. Got them because the tranny was slipping. POS.

 

I special ordered my 03 SS brand new in Oct of 02 at Lattoff Chevrolet in Arlington Heights, IL - the dealer is no longer there. I bought my 05 SS used from a Hyundai Dealership in Schaumburg IL in Feb of 09.
