When did you become a "car" person
Well mine was in july of 2013 when I got my first monte carlo a 2004 ss. Shortly after I bought the car I was hired as a teacher for a for profit college. When I got the car It was blue and keyed all the way around and said "B**** 4 different times on the car down to the metal. I was embarrassed to drive the car there thinking "what does that say about me as an Instructor with my car looking that way" And within 3 months I had repairs done to fix mechanical issues, body work done, painted the car black, did the cold air intake, and did the exhaust. But the car really was a POS. The check engine light came on 2 miles from home when I bought it and it was a bad cat. I never got to drive it more than 3 months without something happening. But because of all the issues I now know as much as I do.
I have been a car person ever since I was a kid helping my Dad build street rods and taking them to the National and various car shows.
Good question, personally I don't remember but I thin around the age of 7-9. No one In my entire family nore a single friend I know has interest in cars but I managed to take interest In auto mechanics and engineering.
I became a car guy at about 3 years old when my dad showed his 1955 chevy at car shows. I have been told that I use to get down on the ground an look under the car at the show.. Wish I could find my dads old chevy he last saw it in 1973

I've always been exposed to cars through my dad. I didn't help him much when I was a kid, but I would help steer cars that he would drag around his property. When I was 16, my parents gave me a subscription to Motor Trend magazine and that really kicked things off. Then my senior year of high school I bought a beat up 95 Monte Carlo LS that I experimented with. After that, everyone knew me as a car guy who was willing to do unusual things. Just got my Monte out for the first time since October 2012. More info on that to come.
I've been into cars pretty much most of my life, always had toy cars and diecast models growing up(still have most). Unlike most here, my dad was not a car tinkerer. He was into cars and stuff but never did much work himself. Things really picked up for me as i got my first monte and got into this monte community, and then even more so since i got my intimidator. Been doing shows and learning things.
I became a car nut in elementary school. My dad would take me to street rod nationals and I'd help him do matainence on his '94 Silverado. We also help out his friend run a car show called Jalopyrama and ever since then I've had the addiction of cars.
