Default Wheels and Lights

Well today has been a very busy day My curiousity got the better of me and i went and got 2 cans of plastidip and did my wheels. Plenty of time spent with the tape for sure Also i finally got these LED fog lights installed that i bought a few months back. I'll head out later on once its dark to see how good they are, anyway heres some pics

After bothering with the effor of removing the wheel i decided to not bother doing that for the rest and i just painted them still on the car, little tougher in some ways but easier overall.

If i were to do this again i'd need to do a more careful job taping as some of the edges aren't so great, but you learn from your mistakes and this isn't permanant But i kind of stole the idea from justin (zzapultimate) so hopefully he doesn't kill me

Theres a side view of the fog lights as well. I was originally going to mount them further back near the radiator but it wasn't really a solid mount so i opted for this location with i think looks decent. They appear kind of yellowish in the picture, but i think that was my phone as they're the typical white/blue color of LED's.

And heres a shot of the switch inside, the lights will only work with the key on, so no accidental dead batteries:p

My only other thought is to others to have plastidipped wheels, how long can i expect this to last and is it durable or no. I suppose i'll find out after a trip to school tommorow.

I'm going to leave my bowtie silver, so we will be able to compare and see which we like better.

You used 2 cans? How many coats?

1 can just about did 3 wheels for me. As far as coats hmm, i layed it on til it was good and covered and then touched it up a couple times so really hard to say. Maybe around 2 coats. With the tape, the thicker the dip the higher the risk for it to peel off with the tape i noticed. And i'll be interested to see A how the bow tie looks and B how you do it.

Mike, thanks can you shed some light on the life of the dip?

Alright well i went out and gave the fog lights a try and they're not as bright as i thought they would be, but then again they're fog lights. Pictures dont quite show the exact light output but its pretty decent. and how i have them angled has an affect on how they look. All in all it was worth it i think.

Just the fog lights

Fogs and HID's

Just HID's
