whats it worth? 1980 factory turbo
only what youre willing to pay for it. seriously though, theyre kind of rare, but still not worth anything. they arent fast, and not super desirable. being one year only (in that body they are probably next to impossible to find numbers matching parts, and body parts for 3rd gen cars are difficult to find). if its perfect(which judging by the pic its not) and has extremely low mileage a dime over 5k is too much. if you want it just because you like 3rd gen montes, and dont care about it being original, just get a 3rd gen v6 car thats grandma fresh and do a grand national drive train swap. itll be faster, look better, and be worth just as little. if you want it because you want a numbers matching turbo monte id look for an 81 it would be far easier to find parts(well body panels). just my 2 cents. its difficult to put a price on that car just from one pic and no background. i would check for rust under or around the chrome trim. look at the frame horns, floors, and the corners of the doors. you want to be very careful because as i said before they are next to impossible to find steel body panels for(especially full length quarters.) there are manufactures that make fiberglass panels for the car. doors, fenders, header, hood, trunklid, but only one(to my knowledge) that makes a steel patch panel for the quarters. full length quarters from c pillar down are gm nos, not produced anymore, and only pop up online once a decade. if the car is half decent 2k maybe. if its a rats nest in the hundreds. id also look and see how many previous owners its had. the fewer people that were playing with it the better.
