Default Whats this car actually worth?

I looked at this car a few months ago and the guy didn't seem to want to negotiate on the price. He seemed pretty convinced it was going to be a quick sale. The orange is a killer, it'd have to spend some money to redo the seats. The stripes on the outside, I don't know, I could vinyl over them in blue or black. I was thinking it was worth more like 17k top of the mark. $22,000 seems like an awful lot.

Even with <6K that SS is way overpriced. I don't think I would entertain negotiations on a price any higher then about 15K maximum.

Its 6 yrs old he's lucky if he gets $10,000 for it.
Dealers automatically add5k over what it's actually worth!

its worth what someone is will to pay for it. that is why dealers charge prices for the latest model year when the car is actually 4-5-6 years old.

agreed. its worth what someone will pay for it. i bought mine in early 08 for 18XXX. i dont think theyre worth a dime over 14 in the nicest shape with 0 miles.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. 20g's for a car with 5k on it? I would buy that. Hard to find a 7th gen monte with that low of miles. I'd pay the extra 5g's for one. Not that one though, Way to much orange.

play hard ball if he is having a hard time selling it hit him low and see just how low he is willing to go and never act like you love the car point out all flaws and make up one or two. he wants to play dirty then give him it right back

Before I bought my white monte, I went to a dealer and seriously looked at purchasing a grand prix, fully loaded, low mileage and the dealer only wanted 21k for it. I really liked the car as it was beautiful condition, then I looked around the lot at the other prices on cars, and stated that their price on this particular one seemed kind of high, so they immediately dropped the price by 1500. Which of course intrigued me as it was more affordable. Then I decided to sleep on it before signing anything and did some searching online and found an identical car about an hour and twenty minutes from my house with approx the same mileage and it was only 16 995. So the next day the deal calls and I explain that without even trying I found a car exactly the same and the price was 3 grand cheaper right off the bat. He basically called me a liar and I simply told him to call the dealer and ask for himself. They called me back and offered me their car for the same price.
Regardless I didn't buy the car as the dealer lost all credibility with me after that whole situation. So what I'm trying to say is that dealers will overprice any and every chance they get too. And the other guys are 100% correct when they say a car is worth whatever someone will pay for it
