Today I'm filling it up with Gasoline and taking it on a nice 3 hour drive.

Tomorrow I'm giving it a good cleaning. Hopefully polishing the rims, putting new silver side scripts on the car, and probably putting my stock headlights back in.

It'll be a typical Friday for me...vacuum the carpet/trunk, wipe down the interior then wash the exterior and windows. Probably swing by the coffee shop early evening then go for a beach cruise.

I was born/raised 4 blocks away from the beach, so it became a tradition to go there on the weekend - weather permitting. I have to drive across town now, but it's still fun to go check out some of the cars. Lately it's been mostly rice burners, but once in a while you'll see a nice classic. My wife was born/raised on a ranch in ND so she absolutely loves going to the beach...and doesn't mind the fact that we actually have hills...lol...

Why returning to stock headlights?

I have a lot planned for the Monte this weekend.

Last night I started on my new brake install. I got new front rotors and pads. I only got one side completed last night after running into some problems with some stuck caliper bolts. I also painted the caliper and bracket which slowed down the process. Hopefully tonight I'll finish the other side!

Tomorrow I plan on giving the Monte a good cleaning. Wash, claybar, wax, wheels, windows, interior everything! It hasn't had a good cleaning all summer. Hopefully after I get it cleaned up I'll take some pics because I haven't had any good photos with all my summer mods so far. I especially want to take some new night pics with my HID's and projectors. I might throw in the stock headlights to get some comparison pics.

I also want to finish installing my LED interior lights. I am putting some LED's under the dash that flash to my bass. I am putting them on a switch in the ash tray so they don't have to be on all the time.

The list goes on but we'll see how much gets done this weekend. I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend! And get out in the Monte!

I got my blacked headlights used, knowing that the rubber was bad. My attempted fix dried and turned brown. Looks like crap. I don't feel like redoing it. The lens also seems to be fogging up, no matter how much I clean it the outside of it just seems grungy.

The light output is also pretty terrible. I'm starting to hate driving at night, and I refuse to put HIDs illegally in my car.

So I'm thinking I might as well just put my stock lenses back in. The look of the black headlights isn't worth it.

I might put these up for sale, or I might actually attempt a real fix. Either way I'm doing it with them off the car, so I'll put the stockers back in for now. (While I'm near them)
