Hope you are all having a great new year. I was doing a little research and qurious, what was the last year for the surf board style spoiler, or what was the last year they were produced and sold on Monte?

The reason I ask this is when looking at the 06 style spoilers they are several options, first design, second design, third design, LT and SS design. Can anyone explain what the different designs are?

not sure of the design are but i see 06-07 with the surfboard spoiler on still .so from 200 to 07 i think we all got stuck with that ugly thing lol

 

I thought there was only two designs for the 06-07's. Either the surfboard style or the stand up style like manny above has. I hanvent seen a 06 07 bodystyle without a spoiler, unlike the 00 -05 body style that look horrible without a spoiler.

 

The base models of the newer generation monte's have the ugly surfboard that i'm stuck with. But it is better than no spoiler

First I've heard of more then two designs for '06/07 as well.

There is a first & second design for the taillights on '06 Montes. Not sure the difference other then I have seen some both upper and lower bulbs were illuminated.

This a popular upgrade for '00-05 Monte owners. I did it on my '06 Monte as well and then on the '03 Pace car when we bought it.

 

can someone post a pic of the "other" spoilers for the 7th gen montes? Im under the impression that theres only two,,, the surfboard style and the stand up spoiler.

Different tail lights too. Man i need to upgrade my monte knowledge lol.

I think that some of the confusion is extending from certain vendors who will advertise the '00 - '05 pace car (stand up) spoiler as an '06 - '07 compatible product. It would certainly fit the trunk lid, but you would have to drill holes for it. the "surfboard" spoiler has been in the lineup for the span of the 6th gen Monte Carlo (6.5 gens for you '06 - '07 owners). As it turns out, the redesigned pace car/SS spoiler for the '06 - '07 Mote Carlos fits into the surfboard holes without modification.

On a personal note: I LOVE THE REDESIGNED SPOILER. I covet it. I want to replace my surfboard with one in a bad way, especially after I get my taillight covers on.

 

If I had to choose between the two I'd pick the '00-05 race inspired spoiler over the '06-07 race inspired spoiler. I just happen to think the spoiler on our '03 Pace car is more compact then the spoiler on my '06 LTZ.

Who knows? Maybe the '06-07 spoiler is more aerodynamic then the '00-05 spoiler?

Think anyone would notice a silver 2006 LTZ Monte with a blue trunk lid & spoiler attached? Or a blue '03 Monte with a silver trunk lid & spoiler attached?
