Default What would you do?

here goes, I currently have a 2004 MC LS. I picked it up about 4 months ago for 4k. It was in excellent condition and only had a shade under 47k miles on it. An SS just showed up on CL for a really great price. Its an 02 but it has 133k miles on it. I really want an SS but all the ones I've seen in my price range have mileage that high or higher. I'm open to suggestion.

can you possibly work out a trade to where you might pay 1-2k?

Don't do it....you know your car, and you know it's issues and lack of issues....the ss has a lot of miles and may need an engine/tranmission soon...all high priced items, not including what else maybe wrong with the car...If you want more power, I say save up more money and buy either a newer one, or one with less miles and less wear and tear...

JMO good luck and let us know what you decide

Wouldn't doing a top swap be cheaper?
If it because of the appearance, all of that stuff can be changed on your LS.
Spoiler, fog lights, rockers. etc..

*edit*

Forgot to ask, what's the reason behind wanting an SS?

47K miles is great for an 04 trust me. I wish mine that that many, so far mines up to 115,xxx
and to have paid 4k sounds even better to me.
Look and ask around, there are plenty of info/people here that can help guide you in the right directions if its performance the reason you want an SS.

I want an SS mainly for the performance but I also love how they look. But I traded my police package impala for the LS so I knew what I was giving up in performance from the beginning. I think I probably will just keep it. Thanks guys for your replies.

I'd just mod the LS to get more performance out of it.

Realistically, what could I do with that 3.4 that I would notice that wouldn't cost me what I would pay for the other car?

I'm thinking an Air Intake, and Exhaust, and a custom tune.
I don't think there are as much products for that platform compared to the 3.8
