I'd say if the engines stock and its an automatic the monte has a great chance at beating it since those cars didnt have a lot of HP considering they were muscle cars. and it also depends on who ha smore stickers on their car each sticker is 50 more HP ya know ::rofl::

By the numbers, you're correct. The mustang should beat the monte. No doubt that's likely what will happen. But it's still fun to give it a shot. Sometimes you get lucky. But be prepared for an embarassing loss.

exactly like me keeping up with my friends 2004 GTI in a race from a 30 roll he still says he let me keep up and barely touched the throttle i pulled away while his turbo spooled up. and then he caught up by 80

I love it when they say they let you keep up, or they let you win. Geez, just admit I was better than you expected.

Most of those stangs were dogs(not all of them)lack of power.the monte being a tank the two should be close. The winner would be the better driver

A stock 86 Mustang GT is NOT going to rape a stock supercharged Monte, lol. Mustang GT's have been slow all the way up until the 2011 model. I will say though that this will be a driver's race. If you launch poorly, you lose. If he launches poorly, then he'll lose. If he's driving an auto GT, then you probably will win. If he's driving a stick and can shift perfectly, then he might win. The 80's weren't known for having fast cars, lol.

Let me say this though, Fox body Mustangs are VERY popular to modify and it would be easy for one to look stock, but actually be built. If he's lieing about being stock then he will easily win. Stock vs stock, you're looking at two high 14 second cars. Have fun, be safe, and beat that guy

I use this site as a reference all the time:

http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html

When you go to the menu it lists a lot of cars best reported quarter mile times. All times listed are of cars totally stock. It's disappointing the supercharged 6th gen Monte's aren't listed, but a supercharged 04 Impala is. I pull this site up all the time to show people who drive slow cars who think their cars are fast. The best example being VWs as VW has only produce a handful of cars to even break into the 14s

Like zipper and others have said, high 14s - shouls be close. Get some racing practice against a VW

All depends on the driver. a lot of things come into place with racing such as
Wheelspin
shifting time
launch time
ect.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:30 PM.
