Okay so I own a 2004 dal jr supercharged with 49k. I was wondering since Preium has cost so much if I could mix it like half and half or 75-25%? Money isn't the issue I just wanna save some money on gas too put back into the car! Thanks

It could cause problems in the long run because it wont burn as clean as the straight premium will. Lower octane fuel can cause spark knock and ruin your catalytic converter.

 

I would just run all of it premium, you really won't save that much money, Montes have what like 16 or 17 gallon tanks, so that's 4 gallons that you're saving 20 cents on, so 80 cents total, not a big savings in the long run..

 

I would only use premium if I was you if the cost betwwen regular and premium bothers you u caould always trade it off to get a N/A 3800 SS Monte, but honestly putting premium in dosent seem to big a deal to me but I enjoy my vehicles so any cost of gas is no big deal to me, yeah it bothers me but what can ya do.

 

Your right about the spark knock etc..... I also found if i went to a lower octaine fuel That it started to clog my injectors as well as i had 3 out of 4 ... O2 sensors fail on me! and they arent cheap! Plus i noticed a huge performance issue ... For example .... my 2004 silverado I do a lot of towing (camping) 11,000 pounds is what it weighs.. and thru the mountains with a lower octaine fuel it started pinging, and heating up and my fuel mileage fell drastically.....

So dispite, What ya might think is a saveings in cash.....actually over the long haul...(forgive my pun) it will cause you more grief than the saveing a penny or 2 !

 

Our cars only have 2 oxygen sensors.

The main point was the O2 sensor failures....

 

So my mom filled it up not realizing that it took premium cause i decided i would do all premium but she only put 1/4 tank of regular in. What should i do?! Im nervous somthing will go bad!?

 

I wouldn't even worry about it just this one time. Pour a can of octane boost in it if you're that concerned about it.

 

Id put some octane booster in it then top off with premium. my dad did that with my quad that only took 93 and it was fine. I put 93 in everyonce in awhile but like every 4 months throw some octane booster in it
