Default What type of alarm do you have in your Monte?

Hey guys, just wondering what kind of alarm you have installed in your monte. Now that i have my pride and joy i want to protect it. I live in a good area, but if i were to ever go in a not so good area to park. Its an 87 ss so it has nothing besides door locks. Whats the best kind of alarm to have? i've heard of ones that come with a remote on your keys that alerts you if anything is going on to the car. What do ya'll recomend/

After I've read the horror stories of 80's SS montes being stolen I feel paranoid about mine getting stolen. Any tips on alarms or how to prevent the vehicle being stolen be much appreciated. Thanks.

lowjack if you get a regular alarm lowjack comes in handy. it is a small fee you have to pay to keep it active but it is worth the peace of mind and also when it disapears you will be able to let the police know you have lowjack and they will be able to ping it and get it back fast. unfortunally some times it will be coming back with some damage or comes back with just a scratch and needing a window

Talk to your insurance company and see if there are any specific makes and models that will give you a discount for having it, then it can practically pay for itself.

I have a Code Alarm 6551 2-way alarm system and I love it. Remote start, 2 way remote, everything. Got it installed for $400

I've got the Viper 5701. It's got a two way remote on it that alerts you if your alarm is going off. I like that feature. Fortunately the only time it's gone off is when the dump truck comes to the dumpster near by. The sear noise and vibration from it will set it off. I'm pretty happy with it. I bought it online for $100 and installed it myself.
