In 05 they also had the rare LTZ which was just below the SS - 3.8 L36 engine but the ground effects were included.

I swear I saw an 05 with an LTZ badge at one of my local dealerships - but there is no record of them in the 05 brochure - weird.

Perhaps it was just badged that way. I only know of the LT with the L36, and the SS got the L67.

Yes the high sport package reflected the exterior color of the car it did not get Galaxy silver ground effects like some people think . only the pace car did now to tell you this. The high sport package is pretty much an unmarked pace car. It got everything that the pace car has ,same motor same wheels and exhaust same interiors and gauges the only thing It didn't get was the pace car name plate and a checkered flag decals going down the side of the vehicle that's the high sport package . GM wanted the high sport package to look a little bit more stealthy.

Actually, I have the 2003 dealer brochure for montes, it states that the High sport appearance package was an option for the SS models. back in '03 the ss came with the flat rear spoiler and no ground effects. the high sport option included 200hp dual tip exhaust, ground effects, nascar rear spoiler, tuned suspension, diamond cut 16" wheels, goodyear rsa's, stainless exhaust tips, full width door kickplates, solid color choices: black, comp, yellow, white and galaxy silver...two-tone choices with silver ground effects: black, comp. yellow, red and white. There was also an LS sport appearance package in '03 which came with nascar rear spoiler,16" cast aluminum wheels in red, black, white or silver. that year also offered the Competition yellow sport appearance package: yellow with black interior, nascar spoiler, floor mats embroidered in yellw black badging and pinstriping, diamond cut 16" wheels and one stainless exaust tip. the Pace cars of the early '00,'01,'02,'03 are fully loaded with every option as in power seats, heated seats, sunroof, leather etc. Its funny that I went to a dealer in 2003 to get this brouchure then ended up getting a '03 Pace car about 5 years later!!!
