I've never heard of this until I became a member.

 

It means the ground effects on SS Monte Carlos. Some SS's do not have ground effects but have dual exhaust so they are not "High sport" I am sure there are other things that are included but basically that's what it is. My car in the pic below is a "High Sport."

 

It includes the 4 pieces of the ground effects, which is both rocker panel extensions, front air dam, and rear lower facia. The rear spoiler is the verticle "race inspired" vs the flat "surfboard" spoiler on the SS model, or none on the LS. It also includes "diamond cut" wheels. It MAY say "Limited Edition" on the speedometer overlay, or at least my '01 SS LE did.

 

Yep I think 2000-2003 had the "Special Edition" cluster. My 03 does too.

 

question: mine's consider to have the high sports package even though it doesnt say anything on the cluster right? bcuz i was a lil confused with the high sport stuff too

 

mine dosnt say special edition on the cluster lol hehe, but it think they stopped that after the 03 model year

 

I guess to keep the cost down the supercharged montes didn't get that cluster. Again, probably discontinuing them in 03.

 

I could be wrong but I thought all the High Sport packages the body is one color, the additions like Wayne posted (except the rear spoiler) are painted a secondary color. Usually silver.

Come to think of it, one year got a yellow High Sport package that everything on the car is yellow. Like 2002 or 2003.

I thought all the signature series cars got a special cluster face like the '03 JG Montes. Our Pace car says "Limited Edition" on the cluster.

 

My '01 SS LE was ALL black.

I'm currently collecting all of the pieces and painting them black before application. Can't wait. Working on the front air dam right now. Hopefully the guy bites.
