Sounds like a passkey issue, do u get any warning lights on ur dash?

Yes, I have my security light that stays on. I think it is a passkey to. So I tried to do the relearn system and still it is a no go. It is really weird because it drove fine for the first couple of days, then as I was driving my friend home I noticed that my security light was on. We got to his house and about 15 minutes later when I tried to leave thats when my Monte started to run then shut itself off a few seconds later. Would love to have a solution to this problem if anybody has one. Nothing worse than buying a car that you can't drive.

I have a Red 1996 Monte Carlo Z34
It has black leather interior, sun roof, stereo controls on stearing wheel.
I just bought it from a private dealer a few months ago.
This is my first Monte.
