What cars have you owned? (What lead you to a Monte?)

1.) 1984 Cutlass Supreme 350 engine with t tops. bought it my freshman year of high school for $400 of a local junkie. No joke. Car was in sad shape until we restored it. Mother of pearl white with burgundy interior. Had 17 inch rims on it. Got stolen my sophomore year RIGHT OUT OF THE HS PARKING LOT. Insurance paid me 3500 for it.
2.) 1991 mustang 5.0 convertible. Blue with white leather. Already had high mileage when I bought it, put another 20K on the clock over 2 years and the trans died. Junked it.
3.) junior and senior year of hs I drove my dad's 1997 Dodge Ram Laramie SLT. Electric blue and silver short bed 2500 cummins turbo diesel. Hell Yeah baby. Dad had that car until last year actually. (mind you I was 17 at the time now...)
4.) Then I got sick of sharing and bought my own car, a 1990 Cavalier z34 2 door. UGh. Hated that car. but it was cheap. Lasted 2 years. lol.
5.) 1999 Dodge Stratus RSX 2-door
6.) ex boyfriend's 2007 Jeep Wrangler Sport
7.) 2003 Pontiac Bonnieville SSEI
8.) Traded for a 2008 Pontiac G5, 6 grand upside down, got repoed...
DIVORCE
9.) 1998 Monte Carlo LS Totaled in a rear end
10.) 2000 Monte Carlo LS
I've been driving since I was 15, and I'm now almost 30 so... yeah, pretty good! lol

idk if i've done this thread or not lol but anywho...
i've never actually "owned" my car before (the reason is a long story)
but my sophomore, and most of junior year I had a black '97 plymouth breeze. i don't have any pics of it on this computer but when i get back to Pensacola I'll post some pics of it back when i was driving it. For being a breeze it was actually it pretty descent shape. the only problem with the paint was a bleached bumper from all the sunlight and then somehow i guess someone keyed the side of it but other then that before it got flooded it it was pretty nice i guess. has about 250,000+ miles on it
then of course i got me 04 supercharged monte carlo ss. got that car like the last week of my senior year. actually got it two days before the breeze got flooded, talked about luck! so i've had the monte for about a year and a half now and i'm not planning on ever getting rid of it =D
other cars that my family has are:
2007 black mitsu. eclipse spyder (mom's car: possibly trading it in for a convertible camaro eventually =D)
2001 midnight blue 3500 sierra duramax (dad's truck)
1999 red dodge caravan (our traveling van =] 260,000+ miles)
and then two dirt track cars =D
but its most def cool seeing all of the cars that people have owned in the past =D
not really sure what lead me to a monte. a friend of mine actually just asked me that the other day lol. probably has something to do with NASCAR, my race car being a monte, and idk my dad owns a shop so i've seen them in there so i guess ever since i saw the 6th gen monte i've been in love =D i think the very first 6th gen monte that i saw (when i was old enough to start thinking about what car realistically i wanted lol) was a red monte carlo ss pace car edition. so yeah that's all i got about that lol

All over the map from the time I was a teen. In order...1967 Plymouth Belvedere, 1984 Plymouth Reliant, 1987 Ford LTD Crown Victoria, 1991 Honda Civic wagon, 1990 Ford Thunderbird base, 1997 Honda Civic, and now...2007 Chev Monte Carlo LT. I wish I had the judgement then to bypass some of those above cars years ago.
My reasons to go to the Monte: positive impressions left by a one-week rental of a 2006 Impala LT, but the desire to return to a 2-door model since I hardly use a back seat and like the styling. I was aware of (and impressed by) the Monte's rich heritage in racing, but it didn't affect my purchase decision. Just wanted an affordable midsize coupe (not many of those in today's newer car market) that drove like that Impala.

What started it all was my wifes 97 Z34 she had when we first met. I didn't know what it was at first but I loved it after i drove it.
My first car wa a 95 Escort. It had no ***** but it got me to where I needed it to go. I then got rear ended and ended up getting my 02 LS. It was a great car and had a lot of great memories in it.
Once we got married I drove my Escort for about 2 years while my wife drove the LS. THe Z with the 3.4 was long gone up to GM heaven. Then my Escort was rear ended again and the insurance bought it out for a cool 2K. I ended up getting my car which I still love. The 1999 LTZ.
Then a 1 yr 1/2 later I stupidly when to a dealership to look for a truck (only browsing) and ended up coming home with my 06 lt3. I still wish it was an SS though. I have to wait til its paid out to go mod crazy on this. Had to get rid of a car and sold the LTZ. My mom ended up with her and I had 2 montes for a while. Thats is untill we had our first child and 2 2-door cars wouldn't cut it. Sold the 02 to my wifes mom and ended up with my wifes daily drive, 03 Pontiac VIbe. Great car by the way.

62 Rambler Classic Was my grandfather's car I received it after he passed & my dad let it sit in the yard for 2 years, wanted to fix it up never did
88 Corsica
92 Dodge Spirit What was I thinking?
95 Camaro Z28 (still have)
95 Monte Carlo Z34 (foolishly sold to co-worker, again what was I thinking?)
01 Sierra (First new vehicle, still have)
03 Monte Carlo SS (still have)
What originally made me choice the Monte, my brother's experience with his 84 SS, and seeing the white Z34 up on the dealers rack all shined up and looking pretty. What brought me back: 70 mile daily commute with gas hungry V-8s, recollection of the Z34 and the crash test ratings, hopefully will never need the protection but it's good to know it's there!
