Okay, after installing injectors and a fuel pump the ol Monte is running like never before! So good in fact that I had her on a twisty back road stretching her legs so to speak.
Then an oncoming car pops around the corner. . . Oh no is that a lightbar on top of that car? Oh yes it is and they are now flashing.
Do you know why I pulled you over?
I was probably driving a little fast.
That's right 74 in a 55.
Then I said this a stupid reason but do you want to know why I was driving so fast?
Why is that?
This car has been broke down for almost a month. It was running so good I was just enjoying driving it.
Just blowing it out? I understand. Let me run this through and if nothing comes back, I'll let you be on your way.
And then he let me go!

I had one once when driving home on the Interstate, I was clipping along about 85 and popped the over a hill and he was sitting in the median. He hit the lights and I pulled up an exit ramp that was about 500 feet further down the road. I got up the ramp pulled to the shoulder as far as I could, turned the interior lights on and got my registration.
So there were 2 trooper in the car, one went down the passenger side the other up to my window.
I was really far over to the right and it was just before Christmas and there was frost on the grass where I parked. All of a sudden I heard a thump he hit my car when he fell. The bank I was parked near was really deep. The Trooper at my door was laughing so hard he told me to go ahead, and to slow down.

That is pretty sweet he let you go. It just goes to show you that not all cops are bad and some will understand. I have had a couple that let me go when I was speeding or doing something stupid.

Thanks for sharing the story. I wish I could share as such, but I have never been able to talk my way out of a ticket. And I don't know why. I'm always polite and respectful - maybe too much so? Still, I have never been ticketed in the BudChev. I figure its cuz most cops are DaleJr fans
