Default Video Bypass

Well i just got my new alpine ina-w900 installed a couple of days ago. the only problem was to access any settings, watch any videos ipod or dvd was that you had to have been in park then push the parking break in twice before you could do any of that. So i did a little searching and came across this device the PAC-TR7.

This has to be one of the easiest hook ups i have ever done. All i had to do was connect about 5 wires, a power, ground, remote turn on, foot break, and parking break. all of which wires are coming out the back of the HU. I know this module works for alpine head units and i would definitely suggest it to anyone who wants these features while driving.

heh, just wire the parking break hot line to a relay connected to your ignition line or remote wire for your amps, so that when your amp remote or ignition power comes on, it powers the relay sending that constant hot signal, or a ground in some cases to the wire, and blamo, it works, you can't do this with every deck, and some require you just physicly pull the pin out of the harness and swap it to another slot, but it's incredbly simple to just use a 7$ 4 or 5 prong relay depending on how you wire it, and blamo. just need a set of crimps, and some female togle pins. as near i can tell, that unit is just a relay, in a nice little package with wires, and eveything. most likely solid state instead of a relay. but relays are more reliable if you ask me :|

I wish alpine would have put some more things into the unit software like custom backgrounds, the ability to change the color of the hard buttons, other than that everything seems to work nice, I have noticed that the navigation seems too have a hard time changing, from night mode to day time mode color maps.
