Hey my name is Andy,I am new to this forum,I have had my 04 monte carlo for about 6 months. I was recently pushed off the highway by a semi-truck and had 7000 worth of damage to my car. I just got it back and it isstill damaged. but after its returnI was wondering what upgrades I could do body and engine.I am waiting to get my car back to post pictures. The color is victory blue. I keep loooking online and still come up short when it comes to aftermarket performance.

Hi. Welcome to the forums.

One of the most common upgrades is to remove that U-bend pipe just ahead of the catalytic converter. They say it frees up afew ponies by deleting this pipe. You can buy an exhaust pipe made for this but the cheaper way is to have a local muffler shop do the job for you.

Also, a cai is another common upgrade. I'm certain there are kits out there for the '00-05 Montes. Unlike the '06/07s.

 

thanks. now i see that people are putting the ss hood scoops on the monte. is there a way to buy this hood or would it have to be custom.

now does anybody have an idea how to set up a custom fwi system on thier ss. i do not want to spend the money for a k&n and not recieve the performance for the money. i just need to know wheres a good location to locate a filter out of heat without getting water suction.

You also may want to consider a PCM tuner. There are some performance upgrades available from ZZP also.

 

now what is the best sounding exhaust system for the monte carlo. from what i have heard on youtube borla and flowmaster have the best sound anybody got a system or a pref.
