Under-dash water sloshing sound. Any ideas?
Hey all.
My '07 Monte LT (bone stock, 45K miles now) has an odd problem. Within the first minutes of cold-start driving, I'm hearing what sounds like water sloshing around. It seems to be coming from the passenger front footwell area of the car. Once the car warms up to the point where the heater's giving warm air, the sloshing sound dissipates. Nothing's dripping on the inside, the carpet's not damp, and moving the passenger door to-and-fro doesn't make the sound. It can be heard most clearly when making turns or under acceleration, and with the radio and HVAC turned off. I have no sunroof, the windshield has no damage and has never been replaced, and there's been no front-end collision damage on this car. Any ideas as to what this may be, and how expensive a repair it may be?

Ive been having the same exact problem on my 06 for years now. First cold start in the morning usually, except when i hear it(a slipknot concert ruined my ears so this is not exact) it sounds like its coming from under the floorboards.
I never really looked into it too much, but it seems to become noisier after rain or a wash.
Some might say that its your heater core, but my heaters been working perfeclty fine for the past few years that we have had this problem.
Its probably just water getting in somewhere, if its not hurting anything then i wouldnt worry about it too much and if anything, now you have a soothing sounding flowing river in your monte!

I think his problem is, that when he starts the car water sloshing sounds immidiately start up. I had air pockets in my cooling system but that caused my car to overheat like crazy, i fixed that but still had the sloshing sounds.
