Trunk popup

Does anyones trunk pop up open when you click remote...or does it just unlatch?

The trunk should unlatch (but not pop open). If it does it is usually caused by the incorrect (too long) struts being installed when they are replaced.

Mine does pop open...
But then again I have the tension/spring rod set on the highest setting..

That way I don't finger print it up at shows etc when getting thing like my cooler chair/scooter etc out of the trunk.

Just 1 less thing to wipe down.:)

If the trunk pops open you will eventually bend the trunk lid around the hinge area. As far as fingerprints, lift the trunk from the bottom (where it meets the rear bumper cover) and you won't get fingerprints on it. ;)

Actually Mike:
I initially raised it (Tension rod) to aide in opening the trunk with the older style spoiler I had on it.(t was pretty bulky) Even still with the new spoiler it still works quite efficiently.. It doesn't pop wide open but it does open enough that it wont spring the hinges...
At least not in the last 14 yrs I have owned it...:rotfl:
