Took the Monte in to the Chevy dealer today to get the radio unlocked. I pulled into the serive department and got out. An older gentleman, probably in his 70's came up to me and said "That's the most beautiful body style that GM ever made."

I thought he was being sarcastic at first, but then he went on to tell me how his son has a 200 Monte with 200,000 miles on it, and they are the most beautiful cars. He went on and on. Kinda made me feel good, so I thought I'd share.

 

there are very few great looking body style cars out on the road one of them is our 6th ang 7th gens as well. now the line of great looking body line cars are going on to the high really high end cars we here will never be abel to afford

 

Back when I had my LS even with a few dents and scratches. I waxed it all up and was getting gas one day when one of the football coaches from the college on a harley pulle dup beside my car and turned his bike off. He looked at me and said I just wanted to tell you thats a sharp looking car you have there. I was so happy lol.

 

These are sharp cars, I always wanted one from the day I first followed one on my way home! Now I have my 2003 LS, love my Monte, maybe too much, just ask my friends and wife, she never gets to drive it!!....It's my mistress, you don't share that!!!

Yep, it always seems to bring a smile to your face and a sense of pride when someone compliments your car.

 

I think they look awesome as well! I don't get many complements on mine lol.. maybe its the matte hood that throws people off lol. I've had a few people that really liked it, no surprise that they were owners of older generation Montes though

I also think its very under-estimated. A lot of people in my area don't see the potential these cars have performance wise. Don't get me wrong, they usually complement the style and appearance of the car but most car guys first ask, what's that got in it? Is it rear wheel drive? After replying no, its FWD the questions usually stop lol..

 

I had some guy at the gas station ask me if I had the 350 or 305 in my car and I told him I wished I had the V8, he said oh, so 3800 I just let him think he was right, didn't want to keep correcting him then haha

 

And then you replied 305? nahhhhh this baby is a full 204!

 

I think the LA1 is 191 cu in. if I remember correctly.

 

I was in a hurry so no.. lol 204 > 305 anyday anyways haha
