All monte carlos have the Hydramatic 4T65. The 3.5 Lz4 has a 2.86 final drive, and the 3.9 LX9 has 3.29, while the SS has a heavy duty variant as im told.

Because 3800performance.com has a shift kit for 4T65E and was wondering if that is what we had in our cars.

Nope that is a different transmission. the regular 4T65 won't hold up to it.

Are you saying the shift kit won't go in my regular 4T65-E?

This thread is slightly confusing, do we have the "e" or not?
