I read somewhere that my car (04 ss intimidator) that it is governed at 128 mph.

Im not interested in doing it, but completely stock, does anyone know the top speed if that was removed? would it run out of power or hit the rev limited at a certain speed? Just wondering if anyone has ever done the math or actually did it.

 

its at 115. i got an 04 intimidator as well. it just scares the poop out of u cuz u think ur car is gonna die or something. it just drags tho so i let off the gas and let if coast down to a very slow speed of 80 mph

 

My 03 NA shut off at 130 everytime till i tuned it

 

I wouldn't hit the governor at all in any car especially one that's boosted. One of the main reason I took the spark removal on traction control and governor off.

 

my 04 Supercharged SS seemed to top out around 115 too. It didn't bog out or anything it just wouldnt go any faster.

 

Ive got my 05 ss to 128 until i let off cause it was crazy. Loll

 

does it hit 115 and sit there? or does it hit 115 and die down? i could see why it would just sit there and not die due to the boost.

why are the top speeds so different from car to car?

I was just curious, because my brother has a 98 3800 camaro and hit 132 with it, so i figured my boosted ss would go way past that seeing how i have 40+hp on him.

 

The camaro was a lot more aerodynamic then that though.

I'm worried to top out because stuff would probably fly off. But my limiter is set to 255
And i shift into o/d at 127 at wot so I dont know what i could do.

 

Anyone know what the LS4 Monte hits stock? I have seen youtube vids of the Grand PRix GXP hitting well into the 150 range. Not sure if the Montes and Impalas were limited.

 

I hit 127ish and it wasn't topped out yet . . . i just couldn't stand hearing the woman in the passenger seat whine any more :p
