It will be ok. I'll get a cheap 5th gen for now, and then get a supercharged 6th gen, or maybe a 7th gen once the house is refinanced.
Sucks you had to take that low. Someone got a great deal on a nice Monte though. Sounds like you got a good plan worked out though for a new one

Thanks. I'm not looking forward to taking the car to the guy tonight, but I gotta do what I gotta do.

I will need a winter car when, and if, I ever get a nicer Monte. Plus, my stepson will be driving in a couple years, so a cheap fifth gen will keep my in a Monte, plus my stepson will have a car then too.

Get two birds with one stone that way. Theres still some good 5th gens out there for a good price.

Yeah, it was hard to deliver it tonight and watch someone else drive away in it. Made me sad. It will all work out in the end.

Well time to find that 5th gen now. I have seen some good deals on 5th gens lately on craigslist, post some pics when you find one.

Will do. I have seen some decent deals on them too. I'm not overly concerned about mileage, especially since it will end up being a winter beater and eventually being driven by my stepson. I'm hoping to find something for a couple thousand that doesn't have any rust.

Sucks that you had to sell the Monte - good luck and I hope you get into an 05 SS soon!

Thanks everybody.

I'm going to look at a 99 LS today after work. It has a ton of miles on it, but only 65,000 on the engine. I'm hoping to bring it home for the weekend so I can have my mechanic check it out. With the mileage on it, I want to make sure all the steering components and suspension and such is ok. I'd hate to be driving with my kids in the car and have something break.
