I just bout new american racing rims (AR890 chrome) was wondering what kind of low pro tires you guys would recommend?

I would help to know a little more info. Year of your Monte, size of the rims, and your preference (all season, summer only), and whether you're more concerned with performance or ride comfort, etc.

As a generalization, I have had excellent luck with Michelin's. They are kind of pricey, but I've used different Michelin varieties on different cars, and always had a good experience.

 

what's the size of your rims? I go with best price for what you get. Pretty much will always get what you pay for but I pick up a brand new tires and a 4 wheel alignment for only $680, which was a steal of a deal. Size was 245 45 18, cordovan is the brand. Rather nice tires for the money. not loud, pretty stiff, and all season. only 25k warranty, like I said get what you pay for. Before I had Goodyear GS F1 summer tires, by far best tires I have ever had. I got a deal on those too from tirerack.com 4 years ago, they were a winter deal, since they were summer tires, I only paid $101 each for them! They lasted me 50,000 miles. Overall do your research on each tire brand and the model, and I'd get the best I could with the money you have to spend. In my case I didn't have much but still ended up pretty happy.

 

Gotta agree with this. I love my Michelins.

 

if you drive in summer only i used riken raptors zr rated and they were awesome tires. didn't cost alot either. can't drive in snow with them though

 

i know michelens are a really good brand expeceally for all season type a little high but a good tire. those are the next tires for me to be honest for me i have the goodyears eagles they grip well but i wanted toet the michelens but i didnt have the funds at the time to get those but could get the goodyears. tirerack had a good price on them. those two brands i had good luck with on holding up with florida rain dry weather. plus michelens holding up in the snow as well im sold on the two types but i agree with mamonte with michelens will last a little longer
