Default Strange squeaking sound...

I've been getting a strange squeaking sound coming from the steering column on my '06 3LT as I'm turning the wheel. It's a very obvious rubber/vinyl rubbing against plastic sound. It's been going on for about a month now.

Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone have any suggestions? THANKS!

Ive had something similar with my 2LT 06. Mine was coming from the engine bay, and found out that I was out of power steering fluid.

Check that first just to double check. My soon to be father in law had the same problem too and tried the fluid.

its probably a tie rod end or a ball join, seen that on a Pontiac recently and its annoying.

Push down hard on the car on all four corners to help diagnose but sure fire way is to get it on a lift and check them for play.

is it squeaking? put it in neutral and let it roll back and lightly press the brakes, should help it out

Sorry, I haven't been able to get on the forum the last few days. The issue is still there. The sound itself is coming from the inside of the car. I can hear it and feel it in my hands. The sound is coming from between the steering wheel and column itself. Like I said, almost as if the plastics and vinyls are rubbing.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm not sure what the hell it is. I'm afraid to just put some grease in between not knowing the outcome.
