Kinda like how a lot of hot rodders will stick a Chevy small block into old Ford hot rods (model T's and such). I always found that hilarious. People will stare and say "check out that (what ever year) Ford. Dam that thing sounds nice." Mean while it's got a Chevy engine in it.

Like I've said for years. "Us Chevy guys can't find any Chevy engines cause all the Furd guys have them in their cars."

You do see a lot of street rod Furds with Chevy engines in them. The rare is the Furd stuck in a Chevy body.

Oh those are easy to find. Usually along side of the road with the hood up.

Ford guys use chevy engines because there is a large aftermarket following and the engines are cheap and easy to find. I have no problem with ford smallblocks. A good 302 is just as reliable as a 350 or 327. Hell, you can build a ford 351 windsor in a sandbox and it will still run forever. I know this is a chevy forum but we dont have to be bashing fords here. Now dodge, thats a different story, lol. Chrysler is a sellout as far as Im concerned and I dont have any more respect for them than I do foreign cars. I wasnt a ford fan either until Ibought my oldf150. Now I like fords almost as much as chevys. Now adays with the foreign market like it is, we cant afford to be hating on other domestics. That mentality wont help bring the US automarket back to the top. The moral: quit bashing ford and go out and hate on those hondas and toyotas.

Yes Yes Yes!!! The Monte looks great! The country side is also very impressive. Looks like a good place for a road course just watch out for the buggies in the road. Are you in Amish country? Looks like a really nice place to live.

I thought the background pick from "Space" may be from the boys up thar in North Georgia who just discovered "Bigfoot" (so they say). Could it be "Bigfoot's" wife???

Matt, it was just a little joke. Relax. Its all good, man.

Besides, the little jabs on Ford and Mopars here on this board are extremely tame compared to the downright nasty insults that the Ford guys say about Chevys on the Mustang forums.

And before you bring it up, one reason some people here call them "rustangs" is because of the banner ads put on the site by google. Google looks for key words in our posts, to try and determine what ads to put up on the site. Thats why we have banner ads for mopar stuff in threads discussing the new Challenger.

Hell, I remember seeing a thread a while back dedicated to MCF member Space. The banner ads were for closet organizers. And as I write this, Im staring at a banner ad for Disney movies for some strange reason. [sm=WTFsgign.gif]

I like the Mustang. Its a nice car. I prefer a Chevy though.

I wasnt mad/angry/upset or anything. I was just saying. No hard feelings. I know what you mean about ford guys talking. Ive met some hardcore ford guys before and I really couldnt stand them. Chevy owners are really the best for not trash talking (if you exclude corvette owners of course). Chevy has always been a small step ahead performance wise so we dont really have to trash talk to get the point across. I do call mustangs rustangs occasionally tho. I know any ford product is bad for rust, and I am guilty of the ford rust jokes every now and then. Hell my f150 was a never ending rust battle. I got on top then sold it. Other than that it was a great truck. I would buy another one in a heartbeat if I could afford the gas. In fact is been my dream ever since to get a 92-96 f150 single cab, short bed 2wd with a 300I6 and 5 speed and turbo it. I want to make the outside and inside look exactly like a 1st gen lightning then when you open the hood you see a big *** turbo hooked to a 6 cylinder.

I know this is a chevy forum but we dont have to be bashing fords here.

Who was bashing?
If I was bashing I would have used stronger words then I did.

I'll admit I do not like Furd or Rustangs. Only cause I'm a true Chuby fan. (mis-spelled on purpose)
I do have to give Furd props for what they've done with the Stang. H-ll if Chevy would have been awake the past 10 years they would have a car just as popular as the new Stangs. (oh wait they did, or could have but they killed it off a second time)
I haven't like Stangs since long before some of you were even born. So this is not a new thing or something I just decided to bring up cause I'm trying to get under someone's skin. I've posted before the guy I grew up with (we were friends from age 2) is from a Furd ONLY family. His dad bought him a couple Stangs when we were younger that I helped wrench on.

And though I hate to admit it, my g/f is a Stang lover. (oh the pain of it all)

Now dodge, thats a different story, lol. Chrysler is a sellout as far as Im concerned and I dont have any more respect for them than I do foreign cars.

Hey now. That's just plain mean!!!!!
NO U.S. car is made specially in the U.S. anymore. Even the Monte came from Canada with parts from all over. The new Stangs are the same. Don't the drive trains come from Mexico?
GM is all over the board with parts made off shore for their cars, trucks, and vans.
Just for the record. My Dodges from my first a 1977 Diplomat to the two I currently own have been good cars for me. Okay I've had to put two different transmissions in my '94 Shadow ES since I purchased it in early 2001. I can't help that. And I did not know the O/D transMopar stuck in these cars was a weak point till I had to buy a transmission.
That probably would have persuaded me look at another vehicle had I known that. But I'm put a "few" miles on both cars since I've owned them.

Like I said before, it all good.

Ford, and GM have sh*t going on right now here in Windsor. The GM transmission plant currently makes the trannies for the cobalt and G5, etc. They found out that GM is closing the plant at the end of the 2009 model year.

Then Ford decided to close 2 of the 3 plants here in Windsor. The plant that made the famous 351 Windsor is currently being stripped and torn down. The remaining plant makes the V8 engines for the Ford pickups. It is now being rumored of a closure also; because of the slumping sales of Ford's large vehicles.

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread Matt.

The Monte looks sweet in those picks!

I was refering to the sale of chrysler llc to diamler. It serves them right to get dropped by daimler in the end. Im also refering to their partnership with diamond star motors. If they had to team up with a foreign manufacturer to make halfway decent cars like the dsms then they have real problems. Chrysler is finally starting to make decent cars now with the 300 and the new avenger but they are still nothing more than a sellout in my books. Maybe one day when their trucks stop dying and they get their act straight, then ill be more inclined to buy a chrysler/dodge.

I know all the domestics have had their share of bad ideas. Chevy killing the camaro = bad idea, ford spending so much money on their trucks right before gas prices skyrocketed (and they are still spending too much on them) = bad idea, chrysler in general = bad idea lol.
