Hi to all I just picked up my new 06 SS Monte. The window sticker stipulated that it had the updated radio with 8 speakers; however, I can only see and hear 4...WTH???? Is this speaker in speaker making up the 8? radio does sound nice and punchy though. Is that silver heat sink looking box under my hat shelf/ package tray labeled Panasonic my amp?

yes your amp and yes it has 2 speakers per speaker grate area

 

I thought the same thingwhen I bought my new '05. The sound system is very decent for being stock, I just had to turn the treble up all the way and notch the bass up once to get the right sound out of it. Mine isn't even enything special, so yours must be really nice!
