Cool Spring Cleaning! ..and painting (underhood)

Been working on cleaning up the engine bay of the Monte. Wish I would have gotten some before pics. Actually I'm glad I didn't cuz it wasn't very clean haha. (Sorry some of the pics are small, must have messed something up on the camera lol? Can't wait to get a SLR camera! lol)

Cleaned everything up with simple green after removing the broken engine mount. Painted strut tower brace, cross bars, and dogbones with VHT's Silver Metallic high heat engine paint. Fallowed with a shot of VHT high temp clear. Plan on wet-sanding and doing another coat of clear, not enough shine for me yet

Also painted the new cast iron mount Metallic Silver. I'm assuming this one won't break like the aluminum one did

Started to polish up the headers too I'll do more work on those later lol.

Rerouted my Spiro Pro wires and put black overlays on the engine cover.

And I painted this piece and put a forum decal on it (Just sat it there for pics, need new clips to put it back on, Plan on painting more and adding stainless bolts to everything sometime soon!)

Don't harass me on the intake either! A new one will be here Monday lol May have pics of that too

Looks great! I'm needing to pay some attention to my engine bay too.

Keep it up

Very nice. I got my outside clayed, polished and waxed today. Once I get a few more pieces for under the hood I'll have to clean mine during disassembly.

Thanks guys!

I'm still not for sure if I like all the silver and red. The metallic silver looks a lot better in person but it seems like a bit much. I might just keep a stripe of silver on everything and paint them back to black.

I think I got them on eBay for ~$40 shipped. It was an open box set that was never used.

I believe summit racing has the same ones for $57 ---> Taylor Cable 74216 - Taylor Spiro-Pro Spark Plug Wire Sets - Overview - SummitRacing.com
(not a bad price but keep in mind they're pretty much just for looks. not really any difference vs. stock)
