pulled the panel off the rear of my trunk. going to paint the black piece either body color or black with a clearcoat. i'm going to make the descision tommorow. i've taken the panel off. and all the emblems off. I ordered a Monte carlo badge in red. and SS badge in red. and another bowtie in red. gotta stick with the red theme. cept i'm getting rid of the z/34 tag, i always hated that whole z/24 z/34 and z/71 (silverado) idea, hence why i'm switching it to SS. plus come summertime i'll be throwing on a SC anyway.

for those of you who didn't see the thread i did about this awhile ago.

here's the original, so just repaint the black piece in the middle so it's as dark and shiny as the taillight covers


or do something like this which is what i'm leaning towards.



i know i've asked for opinions before. feel free to suggest anything.

 

i like the painting it body color... looks neat, sets you out from the rest.

I have to say I dont like the idea. It makes it look like a chrysler/dodge car from behind. If anything you should paint it black/clearcoat to match the light covers.

 

Couch, I took the liberty to do some work on your original pic from the gas station and did some color work on it.



I needed to practice more on color changes and masks. Hope you like it.

so it's done! just got to put my emblems on (still waiting on the monte carlo lettering) but here it is without emblems. they did an amazing job (and it was done for free) so here it is. sorry this picture doesn't do it justice. my phone is broke at the moment and my gf's doesn't take very good pics.
