Default Snow

Does the 2004 Monte Carlo SS drive well on snow or ice? Not deep snow maybe a 2 or 3 inches at most. In Texas, we don't get much snow maybe once a year, but we get a lot ice.

Being front wheel drive, you get decent traction when trying to get around, the only problem I have noticed is that since the MC is so nose heavy, if you are on a slick surface, the back end can possible get loose while turning. If you drive safely for the conditions, you shouldnt have a problem tho.

A good all season tire will help and be very careful - no vehicle does well on ice (unless you have snow tires).

I have 4 Firestone Winterforce studded snow tires on my monte and it is a tank in snow. We recently had a 10 inch storm and it cut through unpaved parking lots like it was a 4wd, and thats without traction control on. We've had ice and snow this winter and I've yet to have a problem. This car is awesome in the snow with the right tires. It even climbed up a steep, icy driveway without even spinning a tire

I've honestly NEVER lost control in my car. Just some people don't know how to handle a vehicle on the snow.

Suprisingly we get snow a few times a year in Texas. But the thing, we get a lot of ice. But, I may be doing some travelling over this winter break so I gotta be prepared.

During the time I had my 02 SS we only had one snow storm and she did just fine. Now ice is a different story...I don't care what you're driving. That stuff is a car eater.

I'm in Oklahoma and we get pretty much the same kind of weather, and my monty drives well. In icy conditions I tend to take it easy anyway since any car will have epic failure depending on the tire's condition and the driver's skill, and I'm not too good at driving on ice. But the cars handle well! I guess it depends on your driving skills and habits.
