I was at Bed Bath and Beyond buying one of my fiance's Christmas presents and I got hit in the parking lot ! I pulled out of my space and continued driving down the aisle to the end (I NEVER CUT ACROSS PARKING LOTS!) and some A-Hole who was driving across the parking lot (or pulled straight out of his space so he says) T-boned me in my front fender. I am soooo pissed. I called 911 because I wanted the cops on the scene ASAP. So I filed a police report and I guess it's all up to the insurance companies now. The cop said I had the right away and I did. The stupid guy said I was speeding - ya right - I know better than that - I have to worry about stupid people driving across the parking lot. I have to send my accident report into the state. The guy didn't even have a freakin drivers license and I never heard of his insurance company. The only good park that is going to come out of this is I am going to get a brand new front bumper painted at no charge. It doesn't look like the front ground effects got damaged too bad but I have to get an estimate from the body shop.

 

My fiance pulled out the bumper so I could drive it home so it looked a lot worse at the scene. And this guy was driving a 1995 POS Mazda.

 

That really sux. The main thing is that you are ok. I hope your insurance will fix it since he doesnt have insurance. The good thing is that the cop even said i you had the right of way.

Ouch, best of luck on that, im surprised the headlight is ok!! Good time to get rid of the pinstripes though :P

 

Amy, I am SO glad that YOU are OK. THAT's what's important. I've had both fenders replaced. Problem is you have a silver car, and there are 12 BILLION (or is it 12 TRILLION) shades of silver. Make sure you get a body shop that GUARANTEES that they WILL match the silver EXACTLY. It's going to be nearly impossible from what I've ever seen. I HOPE that I'm wrong.

 

My fiance's really good friend works at a body shop so I'm taking the car there. He already talked with his friend and they are even going to paint the hood and part of the passengers side door to blend the paint in. The guy is a very good at what he does. And we are also very good friends with a Lake County sheriff. He wants a copy of the report and will definitely dig up dirt on the guy that hit me. In IL if you don't have a valid drivers license and insurance, you go to jail.

 

I am also surprised the headlight assembly held out that well too, and it's funny that the turn signal light popped out of it's socket and it's just laying there LOL!

 

amy, that is absolutly horrible, you have kept silver looking like a showroom peice, mabe the guy in the mazda was jelous that your car was 50 bajilion times nicer than his
whatever the case, i hope the repairs are covered by someones insurance, and that you can get silver back on the road soon! good luck!

 

Thanks Ryan - ya the cop took one look and my clean shiny silver car and took one look at the dirty Mazda (I think it was black LOL) and he knew who was at fault - I also learned from our sheriff buddy that if you are driver #2 on the police report (which I was), you are not at fault.
