How much of a Route 66 fan are you? If you don't really care for it, I wouldn't worry about it. If so, go for it.

I love RT 66 and part of the money of the plate fee goes towards the preservation of it. I have several books on Rt 66 and it's sad to see old ruins of old gas stations, shops and motels along the way.
Scott - you can have up to 5 characters on the specialized plates.

I really really like that RT. 66 plate. One of the only reasons I'd ever want to move to IL is because they have better plate selection. IN's kinda suck.

i think you should still go with the rt 66 plate, i think it looks a little nicer and is more car related in my opinion

LOL... You'd actually consider moving to IL because they have a better selection of license plates?

OMG IL has tons of specialized plates now - they just added a Blackhawks and Bulls plate.
