Default sams monte

well i joined the sight when i bought the car but im just getting the pics up so here we go.

bought a 2003 monte carlo ss with 104k miles on it.
nothing but headaches so far

story- bought it on a Thursday as is. test drove and everything.
about a week later i noticed the trans slamming in second gear. then around another day or 2 it stalled out and just started back up.
this happened about 4 times over the next 3 weeks.
the ac was wroth nothing the day i bought but no biggie just recharged it and the place i got it from paid for that.
the truck latch is not working unless i use the key. i bought an actuator but haven't installed it yet.

so then one morning i wake up to an inch of water on the pass. floor. thanks to some searching on this sight i fixed that.
i used the search button again to find that a few people have replaced the crank sensor for the stalling. so i did that. hopefully that fixed the problem.

check engine light came on yesterday. ran that comes out a evap code.

right front tire wont hold any air,. prolly going to replace tire.

it dose get great gas mileage tho even while looking good compared to my 99 dodge durango lifted 5 inches.

i really hope things start looking better.

hmm sounds more like general maintenance stuff that the place you bought it from should have taken care of.

if i were you i would check the tranny fluid, i would take it back to the company for all the other issues youre having

did you buy it from a fagan or something?

you gotta go in and raise hell if they dont give you an sense of caring after you ask once, if theres people around you gotta speak up and make them look bad, they know they sold you something that was defective, thats shady.

I doubt they'll do anything to help get you back on the road.
It was a risk you took with a vehicle that is advertised "as is" for a reason, because they know they don't want to be responsible for any additional repairs, and at that mileage i think you're out luck.
But you won't lose anything to just go and raise hell if that's what you want to do...

Just take one repair at a time, and we'll see if we can help at all!

My car has been SUPER reliable, a couple things here and there, but that's it.

Dont complain, mine went worse in the first few months. I actually had to replace the tranny.

well hello everybody.....long time no post. so, about the time i stopped posting here is when my monte barley made it home from work. i new right away i finally blew that trans. at the time it sucked but i thought to my self i have 4 cars and no money one car just went down so i guess i will just drive a different one(ended up being my jeep)

anyways fast forward a few months(9) and my funds are pretty ok and i can afford to get the trans fixed by a friend whom i trust.

so last night was the big night for me to tow it over to his house. sitting for so long the battery was flat dead. i picked up a new one and started the job. turns out that the lil bolt that hold down the plastic clip that holds down the battery does not want to move to well. after what seemed like days trying to get it out i decided to break the hold down bracket off. finally got that handled, then the real problems started.

hoping you all can help with this. search lead me on a whole lot of nothing. after installation of new battery the exterior and interior lights went w lil weird. something that i did expect. what i didnt expect is the horn, it starts beeping and i mean one lonnnnnnnnnnnng beep no stops, i hit the lock, unlock, and panic on the fob i locked and unlocked in the door and i STARTED it. yes it did start and no the horn did not shut off. WTH. quickly jumped underneath and pulled the wire going to the horn.
played with the battery some more...still did it. left the horn unplugged and drove up on the trailer but fogs will not turn off. disconnected battery and dropped in friends garage.

now im sure this has something to do with the factory alarm or key-less entry what ever you want to call it, but anyone have an idea?

other than that im really looking forward to driving it again. if you have read through this thread you know i have gone through a few problems but i still really want to drive this car on a daily basis.
