RJ requested photos from a previous 86 Monte SS my fiance and I owned, but sold after 1 year. Attached are some pics of the restoration (paint job) of the car. It was a very good paint job and my fiance got so paranoid that the paint was going to get screwed up that we couldn't enjoy the car, so he sold it. I still have to dig up final pics of the car off his computer. Enjoy. BTW he ended up painting the wheels body color and didn't put the SS deacls on it. The history of the car was that it was delivered to a Chevy dealership not to far from where I grew up in one of Chicago's NW suburbs - the car had the original window sticker and manual. It was rust proofed and survived the harsh Chicago winters. I really don't think it was driven in the winter due the the good condtion of the car.

this was the original condtion of the car - everything original with only 46k miles on it. The paint was spider craking

I don't know what brand of paint was used but it was a pretty high end body shop with a state of the art paint booth. He matached the original color perfectly.

The repaint is sweet. I'd keep a semi-stock look and re-apply the factory rally stripe and nameplate stickersaround the car though.Otherwise, it looks great.

Wow, that is (or was) a nice Monte you owned.

If I had a chance at an SS Monte in that good of condition I just might sell my LS to own it?

But then again, I like my LS a lot!
