Default Reverse light.

(aka backup lights) I'm currently driving a 2001 Monte Carlo SS and I've been wondering about replacing the reverse lights. I'm not very schooled when it comes to my options, so I was hoping that some of you could give me a hand at that. I'd want something that would be particularly bright, in order to match my silverstar ultra headlights and fogs. They stick out like a sore thumb at night when contrasted or walking the car around. Something bright would be good, perhaps something I could later use later on that would show up relatively nicely even if I blacked them out.

Thanks for any and all help, you guys have defnitely given me good advice in the past.

not sure what to tell you i have 9 led bulbs. the color looks sweet, but as for the preformance, its lacking. i dont care cause my break lights are very bright. whenever we get some decent weather im going to tint them. ill put up and update when i do.

there are better led bulbs out there but go up to 30 dollars and i did not want to spend that much.

LEDs. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for, though.
Check out: superbrightleds.com
I replaced the 1156 reverse bulbs on my 96 with cool white LEDs from there.
They improve visibility, especially with tinted rear glass.
I paid ~$7-8 each for four total. Two wide angle, two narrow angle.
I could have bought brighter ones for ~$9-10 each instead.
I installed the narrow angle ones on the bottom, closer to the rear bumper.
I don't know if you're familiar with Beretta tail lights. I don't have a pic.

I have LEDs in my reverse lights also, but they aren't good at projecting the light. Though they do look nice when you unlock / lock the doors

Yes. It looks like you did.

BTW, How did those silverstar reverse lights work out, if you bought them? I had no idea they even existed. Also, what size LED should I be looking for if I go that route?

Thanks a lot for all your help guys it's definitely appreciated.

Sounds good. Well I just picked up the silverstar reverse lights for 7.49 at the local parts store so I'll hopefully have them in this week. Don't have the torx screwdriver or bit on hand so I'm going to stop by a friends later and borrow his to do it. Also I'm going to have to pick up some new screws for the housings because I've noticed their kind of rusty.

If anyones interested I can post a photo of what they look like contrasted.
